Unveiling the Musical Journey: All About the Debut Album, ‘All I’ve Ever Known’
Over the past few months, eagle-eyed fans may have noticed subtle shifts in Alexandra’s social media presence. With nearly four million followers on TikTok, she has always maintained a strong connection with her audience.
However, beneath the surface, she was navigating the challenging terrain of ending her marriage. The tracks on “All I’ve Ever Known” lay bare the raw emotions and intricate details of this life-altering decision.
In an exclusive interview with Music Mayhem, Alexandra Kay shared, “This is something that I’ve been going through for over a year now, and people are just hearing about it for the first time.” she says.
“I know that fans noticed, and my followers noticed last year whenever I wasn’t in my yellow kitchen making coffee anymore and I was in this new apartment, and they never saw my husband anymore, who I used to include in my videos all the time and I used to talk about all the time.”
She continued, “I think when they started not seeing him anymore and they started realizing like the scenery change, everybody started to catch on a little bit.”
Inspirational Icons: Kelly Clarkson and Kelsea Ballerini’s Impact on Music
In the midst of her own divorce journey, Alexandra found solace and inspiration in the music of other strong and resilient women who had walked a similar path. She mentioned, “It was really ironic that in the middle of my situation happening, you know, I think Kelly Clarkson was writing about her divorce, and Kelsea Ballerini was putting out her EP, and I just felt like I had so much music to relate to at the time that I really listened to and clung to get me through what I was going through.”
These two artists, Kelly Clarkson and Kelsea Ballerini, served as beacons of strength during Alexandra’s trying times. She admired their ability to channel their emotions and experiences into their music, paving the way for her own healing through songwriting.
Harnessing Resilience: Empowering Stories Behind the Songs
Alexandra Kay, a powerhouse vocalist in her own right, found her voice and strength through the creative process. She shared, “I just really looked at those females and the strength that they gained through their writing and their creativity, and I was like, ‘Wow, you know, there is light at the end of the tunnel,’ and also just for my fans.”
Opening up in her music allowed Alexandra to connect with her fans on a deeper level. She recalled heartwarming moments during her Backroad Therapy Tour, where supporters would approach her during meet and greets to share their own stories.
“I’ve been sharing music from this record since last year when it started. Right when we started writing songs, I started sharing some songs from the album like during the Backroad Therapy Tour, and people would come up to me at the meet and greets and just be like, ‘I went through it too,’ and give me a huge hug, and just make me feel like I wasn’t the only one,” she gushed.
In conclusion, Alexandra Kay expressed her gratitude, saying, “Just being a Christian in general and all of the values and things that come along with that, it was really, really hard for me to feel like anybody could relate to what I was going through, and so the fans were really there for me, especially at the beginning.”
For those eager to experience Alexandra Kay’s compelling musical journey firsthand, her new album, “All I’ve Ever Known,” is available for streaming on your favorite music platform.
